Kokkola Industrial Park (KIP) is a pioneer in safety. The area\u2019s strong safety culture has been built through close cooperation between companies. The industrial zones are fenced, and all vehicle and pedestrian traffic passes through the Port Tower, which serves as the area\u2019s control center. Visitors must register at the Port Tower, where they receive a visitor badge. Access control systems and surveillance cameras are in use throughout the area.<\/p>

Access Control and Security<\/b><\/h4>

Movement within the area requires authorization and an access permit, which can be an access key, driving permit, or visitor badge. Permits are personal or vehicle-specific and may not be transferred to third parties. Camera surveillance monitors traffic and vehicle speeds, and breathalyzer tests may be conducted when necessary. Construction sites require a photo ID card with a tax number. <\/span><\/p>

Fire and Rescue Services<\/b><\/h4>

The KIP area has a full-time industrial fire brigade (KIP TPK), which provides fire and rescue services tailored to customer needs. KIP aims to offer cost-effective and integrated safety services so that customers can focus on their core business. <\/span><\/p>

Traffic<\/b><\/h4>

General traffic regulations and instructions from Port Tower personnel apply. The speed limit is 30 km\/h unless otherwise indicated. Driving in the area requires a permit from Port Tower and must follow designated routes. Permits are primarily granted for goods transport and emergency driving. Parking is allowed only in designated areas, and visitor parking requires a separate permit. Overnight stays in vehicles or caravans are prohibited.<\/p>

When driving outside marked roads, flashing yellow lights or hazard lights must be used. Drivers must be aware of pipe bridges, underground networks, work machinery, trains, and vehicles transporting hazardous chemicals. Trains and other rail-based equipment always have the right of way.<\/p>
