Yara is a global producer of fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and environmental solutions. In Finland, in addition to the plant in Kokkola, Yara has production facilities in Siilinjärvi and Uusikaupunki, as well as a recycling-based fertilizer plant in Nokia. As part of the Finnish food production chain, we have been producing fertilizers for over 100 years.
At Yara’s Kokkola plant, potassium sulfate is produced for fertilizer manufacturing, along with feed phosphates used as animal supplements. The main markets for these products are Europe, South America, and Asia. The site also includes storage and distribution facilities for ammonia and phosphoric acid. Yara employs 900 people in Finland, of which approximately 85 work in Kokkola.
